Vices
After playing anywhere and everywhere in the UK for a year and developing their sound, Vices were flown to LA to record their debut album with Jeff Saltzman (The Killers Hot Fuss.) After two months the five that make up Vices returned to tour the UK and Europe.
The live show is all about movement, and their bass-driven rhythms supporting an ambient and powerful guitarscape. Vocalist Sam tells the stories, captaining the stage with Andy on lead, Ollie on rhythm and keys, his brother Oakley on bass and Rory on drums.
Described recently as "a bar fight between The Stooges and The Rolling Stones" the band are preparing to tour Europe, USA as well as the festival circuit to promote the release of singles "Where Are You Now?", "Why Are You Scared?" and the next LP following on from their debut album "The Wind I Walk Into".
What they're saying
“This could be the English cousins of Kings of Leon, with blues running through their veins” (New Blood Artrocker)“
Brilliant rock 'n' roll that stupendously mines the seams of Stones' roadhouse riffs.” (Linda Serck , BBC)
“Accomplished musicians, they managed to make their three-guitar attack work perfectly for them ... they deserve to be seen.” (Mostly Just Music Blog)
What struck me at the time was their sheer presence ... not presence in terms of anger or balls, but the tightness and depth of what they did ... Watching them was quite hypnotic, as they all moved and played as if they were an extension of some sort of single big organism; a band as a unit." (Artrocker Online)
